We’ve got some typically unpredictable Central Texas weather here in May and it might affect our practice schedule.
Please be prepared to practice rain or shine. Your coaches have developed practice plans for pool and dry land activities. Coaches will train your swimmer not only in stroke and technique, but fitness as well. This being said, we will comply with the following outdoor rule:
With regard to LIGHTNING in the area, Coaches and/or the Board will suspend all outdoor activity when lightning is six miles away or less (6 miles is the closest proximity permitted). Coaches and Pool Staff will monitor the weather from the first flash of lightning or sound of thunder.
Light and medium rain will not stop us from outdoor pool activities as long as coaches and pool staff can see to the bottom of the pool. Temperatures will not likely terminate pool activities either. In many cases, the water temperature will be greater and more comfortable than air temperature. When it’s cold and chilly, coaches will be right there in the water with your swimmers.
The more your swimmer participates in and out of the pool, the more progress he/she will experience. If you have any questions, please direct them to your coaches before or after practice times.
Please join REMIND (the code was sent to all regitered swimmers on email) to be updated about practices and weather related delays or cancellations.
