Weather

Central Texas weather in May-June can be unpredictable, which may impact our practice schedule. However, please come prepared for practice, regardless of weather conditions. Our coaches have developed comprehensive training plans that include both pool and dryland activities, ensuring swimmers continue to improve stroke technique and overall fitness in all conditions.

Weather-Related Safety Measures

  • Lightning Protocol: All outdoor activities will be suspended if lightning is detected within a 10-mile radius. Coaches and the Board will closely monitor weather conditions and suspend practice at the first sight of lightning or sound of thunder.
  • Rain Policy: Light to moderate rain will not cancel practice as long as visibility to the bottom of the pool is maintained.
  • Cold Weather: Cooler air temperatures typically do not result in practice cancellations, as the pool water remains warmer. On chillier days, coaches will be in the water to help keep swimmers engaged and comfortable.

We appreciate your flexibility and commitment to making the most of every practice session!
